Social Networking For The Insurance Industry

Insurance Social Networking is a great tool for all insurance agents and anybody in the insurance industry. Most Insurance professionals do not have time to manage a good social network online or even have time to market themselves. It takes 30 to 40 hours a weeks to market yourself online. Do you have that time? Didn’t think so. Well if your not doing this your missing out on tons of sales and traffic to your website. Are you the on who spent $5000 on your website and it’s just sitting there. Well don’t feel like a dummy, lots of people do just that. Let me give you some tips to help make it better for you.
First off you better have a blog on your website. You need to post good article on good topics that people want to ready.
second you need to have a forum on your website. Let people carry a conversation about the insurance industry.
Third, Join ping.fm and onlywire. Just visit the sites you will understand why these sites will triple your website traffic.
Fourth, Join twitsurance, it’s like twitter, but just for insurance professionals.
Fifth, You should have a twitter, Facebook, Linkedin account, Don’t worry about a myspace account most people do not get traffic from Myspace anymore, I don’t even use my page anymore. Facebook is easier to get a traffic base.
Sixth, You need a merchantcircle account, it’s free and easy to use and this is good google juice to help that page rank.
Seventh, make a Squidoo Lense, blog about your agency, Great Google juice.
Eighth, Have a website, and not a free one. Spend a few bucks to buy a domain name at Godaddy and have someone build you a site. Try Agent Builder Insurance Marketing. They charge $250 a year. They build it and up keep it. a NO BRAINER.
Ninth, Professional Courtesy goes a long way. Example, if you say your going to call someone. DO IT! Insurance agents are prone to do this. Trust me when I say this. if an agent does not return my call. Their Toast.
Tenth, if your going to spam, spam right. If you get some dweeb who calls you a spammer ignore them, and do not play the game of a pissing match.
Eleventh, post your link to directories and web directories. Great Google juice. It’s all about the Google page rank. it starts at 0 and ends at 10. shoot for ten. if you have 0, your lazy.
Twelth, referrals need to be top priority. Dont be affraid to ask. You will be sorry if you dont.
These are just some of the things you can do to help get more sales. I see more and more agents not taking advantage of the internet.More than 60% of people get online to find an agent. Wow thats lots of potential sales. I hear more and more that I work on word of mout, I have been in sales for 20 years. That means your scraping by and dont have the desire to be more successful. I always like it when an agent says I dont need more business. Liars.
